On August 7, 2026, the Department of War published PURSUE Release 05 – the fifth tranche under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters. Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the files are live on WAR.GOV/UFO and that the Department and agency partners are already working the next drop. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth framed the release as lockstep with Trump:

CBS News counts 41 new files – documents, images, and videos from the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, State Department, and the Executive Office of the President – spanning 1950 through 2026. Sixteen of those are sensor videos posted the same day to DVIDS. Bulk downloads:
Gulf of Oman: ~25 Cold Orbs React to Cannon Fire
Six of the new videos show the same September 2021 incident from different angles: Special Operations forces on an AC-130J over the Gulf of Oman, cellphone footage of the gunship’s sensor screens – cataloged as DOW-UAP-PR117 through PR122.
The accompanying intelligence report says the crew “observed approximately 25 instances of UAPs while conducting a live fire exercise.” The objects appear as cold orbs flying at lower altitudes between 250 and 1,300 mph, in different formations, maneuvering aggressively – and “appeared to react to the aircraft firing its main cannon.”
AARO could not resolve the encounter. That is the official line on a live-fire exercise where the objects, according to the report, responded to the gun.

2026 Western U.S.: Special Agent Infrared
FBI-UAP-PR007 (“Slow-moving Objects,” 2026) shows footage from a “U.S. Government Special Agent” in the western United States: two slow-moving “black-hot” infrared anomalies.
A partially redacted FBI report says the agent was tipped to a radio-frequency detection, pointed a handheld IR sensor, and saw a black object that was not moving fast. A second object appeared to its right. Both were black-hot, moving together at the same speed for roughly 5–10 minutes before traveling out of view.
That is not a 1950s letter to Project Blue Book. It is a federal agent with a thermal imager, documenting UAP in 2026, inside the same tranche as the historical stack.

FBI Form 302s – and the Bagram Triangle
Friday’s drop includes eight FBI Form 302s – interview write-ups – most paired with bureau digital renderings of what witnesses described. The PURSUE portal carousel leads with the official Bagram still used as this article’s hero: FBI-UAP-D025 – Digital Rendering, Airborne Triangle, 2002.
One 302 records a 2024 interview with a former military pilot. He told the agent military pilots had been seeing strange lights between midnight and 3 a.m. He first saw them on a Massachusetts-to-Ireland flight in October 2023 at 37,000 feet, estimating the white lights higher – 50,000 feet or more – cycling dim-to-bright over 10 seconds to one minute. He saw them roughly 10 times after that.
Then he described Afghanistan, 2002, over Bagram:
“At approximately 4:30 AM local time, [redacted] noticed that the stars were getting blacked out over Bagram. It appeared as if something huge went overhead, from west to east, and was an equilateral triangle shape. The object was moving silently, at a consistent speed and altitude, possibly 150 knots, with no lights visible.” – FBI Form 302, as reported by CBS News
He estimated the object at ~500 feet across. Reporting on the same 302 adds that the triangle then abruptly rolled 90 degrees onto its left side while veering right – the opposite of a conventional bank – before returning to level flight. The pilot he was with also saw it. When it passed overhead, that co-pilot said: “did you see that?”
Elsewhere in the 302 stack, Liberation Times editor Christopher Sharp circulated a passage where a witness’s analog watch and phone disagreed after an encounter (phone showed 12:40 a.m.) – the kind of mundane anomaly that lands harder inside an official interview form than on a podcast.

Brazil 1963: Metal Sphere Report in the Official Stack
Another file in the tranche preserves U.S. interest in a 1963 Brazil press claim – a large metal object, a crater on the order of meters deep, and an alleged body / crewman in heavy clothing or a spacesuit with strange / undecipherable markings. Contemporary State Department traffic tied the story to the Salvador / Bahia area (an embassy cable from Rio forwarding and disputing local newspaper reports), while some secondary coverage framed it as Rio. The records preserve witness statements and media reports rather than verified government findings – and they do not establish an extraterrestrial origin. What they do is put a Brazil crash-with-body narrative into the same public PURSUE pile as the AC-130 sensors and the Bagram 302.

Release 04’s STS-80 LEO photos pushed the archive into orbit. Release 05 pushes it into gunship sensors, 2026 federal IR, FBI interview paper, and a Brazil body-file that ends on the most human line in the UAP stack: “did you see that?”
Parnell said more releases are coming on a rolling basis. Sharp warned the same day that dumps without context risk losing the public. The machine is still running – the fight now is whether anyone explains what it is pouring out.
