Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) says he just spent more than two hours inside a very high-level Pentagon meeting on UAP – and walked out convinced the disclosure fight is real, and that unelected officials are still blocking it.
Speaking on the Planet Tyrus podcast and covered by Fox News, Burchett declined to name attendees or detail classified substance. He was willing to put a clock on the session.

Then the line that drove the clip cycle:
“And the disclosure is real. And the problem we’re having right now is the deep state is blocking a lot of this.”
Need-to-Know – Even for the President
Burchett’s sharper complaint is not that nothing is happening. It is that staffers and defense officials still treat elected leadership – including the White House – as outsiders on a need-to-know basis.
“I’m in a security hearing, and a little punk with a man bun tells me that the president’s on a need-to-know basis. Now, what world am I living in?”
He framed the culture as power, control, arrogance, and “a little corruption” – the same institutional wall UAP Caucus members have described since the Capitol steps press conference and through the House adoption of Burlison’s UAP Disclosure amendment.
Pilots Who Erase the Tape
Burchett also told Tyrus he has spoken with pilots and service members who witnessed unidentified objects and intentionally destroyed footage rather than risk career damage. Those who did report, he said, faced roughly eight-hour debriefs that went into personnel records – including psych evaluations that could pull someone from the flight line.
“That’s just wrong, man. That’s a stigmatizing of anybody. And also it’s a cover-up of what the heck’s going on. And government does not have the right to decide what I can and cannot handle.”
That is the operational side of the same bottleneck the White House tried to loosen with NDA waivers for AARO/PURSUE briefings: people with sensor data still calculate that reporting is career poison.

Burchett’s account says the fourth track – clearance culture inside the Pentagon – has not flipped. A two-hour meeting is evidence senior people are talking. His “deep state” charge is that talk is not the same as release.
Whistleblower Matthew Brown, in a separate July 24 essay Corbell flagged as clarifying the NDA announcement, argued the authorized channels themselves (AARO, ODNI, PURSUE) are the risk – a “catch and kill” intake path unless the White House cuts out middlemen and adds congressional access, written waivers, and real immunity. Burchett’s podcast comments and Brown’s essay are different genres. Together they describe the same squeeze: presidential intent vs. the offices that still control the keys.

- Does the White House answer Burchett’s “need-to-know” charge with a visible directive that cabinet-level and congressional overseers get the same briefings?
- Does Senate conference keep a records review board with collection power, or gut it the way 2023–2024 UAPDA died?
- Do waived-NDA briefings produce declassified product – or stay buried in classified annexes?
Burchett is not claiming a new crash retrieval. He is claiming the meeting happened, disclosure is underway, and the block is still inside the building. That is the story until someone names who was in the room – or until the next PURSUE drop makes the argument obsolete.
